Do you wear a MASK? – A Qumin Voxpop

Did you know that we can learn about Chinese culture by looking at the current mask situation?

In China, masks are a common accessory. They not only protect from harmful particles floating around in the air, but also from those expelled by people who are unwell. Hence why it is unsurprising that now, when you look to China, you will struggle to find anyone who is not wearing a mask.

HOWEVER

We look to the West, which has now become the centre of attention for Covid-19, and still don’t see many people donning the accessory in question.

WHY IS THAT SO?

It so happens that this issue is linked to culture. The Chinese culture is known as the collectivist culture, while Westerners mostly share individualist culture traits.

WHAT?
